Audubon International Sustainable Community Award
11/20/2018 - Hammock Dunes became the FIRST private community in Florida to be named as "Audubon International Sustainable Community"
On October 30, 2018, the HDOA held a reception for the presentation of this prestigious award. Jessica Latus, Director of Sustainable Community Programs, was on hand to present the Award to the community represented by Marge Rooyakkers, HDOA Audubon International Chair and Travis Houk, Southern States Management Group.
This project has been a long four year, 3-step process complicated by the visits from Hurricanes Matthew and Irma. This designation means the Hammock Dunes Community is committed to a healthy local environment, healthy quality of life for its owners and local economic vitality.
A big thank you to Marge and Travis for their work on attaining this designation for our community.
